ABOUT iACT

iACT Launches “Be An Entrepreneur” Program in Partnership with Tameer-Shell LiveWIRE Trust

At the Institute for Advancing Careers and Talents, an important component of our programmatic philosophy is to cultivate entrepreneurial traits in young people.

In order to bolster its existing setup vis-à-vis entrepreneurship, as a part of INSPYRE, iACT has launched a basic entrepreneurship education program in collaboration with Tameer-Shell LiveWIRE Trust. LiveWIRE is a social investment program which began in 1982 with the aim of helping youth globally in choosing to start their own business as a viable career option.

OBJECTIVES OF “BE AN ENTREPRENEUR” PROGRAM

“Be An Entrepreneur” is an entrepreneurship education program that facilitates youth to integrate their imagination, skills and passion for enhancing their economic productivity.

The program aims to facilitate youth in the following areas:

  • To develop an understanding of entrepreneurship
    • Understand the ins and outs of initiating one’s own business
    • Know the factors which facilitate and hinder entrepreneurship
    • Understand the personal attributes of a successful entrepreneur
    • Assess oneself as an entrepreneur and identify areas of improvement
    • Realize that creativity, imagination and passion are key in starting one’s business
  • To be inspired by young and successful entrepreneurs
  • To convert emerging entrepreneurial ideas into viable business options through workshops and ‘Bright Idea’ competitions
  • To learn how to develop a business plan required for initiating one’s own business
  • To network with organizations that provide planning, technical and financial support for initiating one’s own business
Implementation Plan

The program spans over a period of three months, and will be implemented in 4 phases:

Phase I :
Students will attend seven Bright Ideas workshops, where they will be introduced to the idea of entrepreneurship.

Phase II :
A Bright Ideas competition will be introduced to students in order to cultivate their ideas.

Phase III :

        business.
